The record book: every ship's best game

Every figure is a single Standard battle, and each one is the best game on that ship among the players who have shared their stats with GamingDiver. The player who set each mark is credited in small type underneath it.

The biggest games on record

The largest damage number any ship has put up belongs to the Kléber, a Legendary destroyer, at 430,456. Only 8 ships have ever cleared 400,000 in one game, and 84 have cleared 300,000.

Look past the very top, though, and the list belongs to the big hulls. The top 25 damage records are 1 destroyer, 9 cruisers, 12 battleships, 3 carriers. A destroyer can put together one enormous game, but battleships and cruisers have the health pool and the time on target to get close to that kind of number much more often.

The best game at every tier

A Tier IV record and a Legendary record are not the same kind of number, so the fairer question is which ship owns each tier. This grid shows the single highest damage record for every tier and ship type.

How far the ceiling climbs

The typical ship's record at Tiers I to III is about 114,594 damage. At Legendary it is 350,916. Bigger guns and bigger targets both scale up, so the ceiling rises at almost every step. Across all 729 ships, the middle record sits at 207,284.

By ship type the order runs the other way from the very top of the list. The typical carrier record is 263,737 and the typical battleship record 229,822, ahead of cruisers at 197,033 and destroyers at 181,542. The best of each type: Kléber (430,456) for destroyers, Jinan (423,764) for cruisers, Louisiana (400,451) for battleships and Midway (383,756) for carriers.

Experience is a different leaderboard

Base experience rewards winning, capturing, spotting and tanking as well as damage, so the ships that top it are not the ones that top the damage list. The single best XP game on record, 5,982 on the Aoba, came on a ship whose damage record ranks only #429 of 729. The top ten XP records are 7 cruisers, 1 battleship, 2 carriers.

Kills: the whole enemy team

A Standard battle is nine against nine, so nine kills is the most a single game can hold: every ship on the other team, sunk by one player. The record book has it on 3 ships: Dmitry Pozharsky, Henri IV and Plymouth. Eight kills has happened on 74 ships and seven or more on 334.

Kill counts are small whole numbers, so they tie constantly. On 435 ships the kill record is shared by more than one player, and the table below credits one of them.

Aircraft shot down

691 ships have a recorded anti-aircraft best. The highest is 146 aircraft on the De Zeven Provinciën, a cruiser. An anti-aircraft record says as much about the enemy carrier's choices that game as about the ship itself, but some hulls clearly make flying over them a bad idea.

Where these records come from

Each ship's record is the best single game among the players who have uploaded their stats to GamingDiver, taken from their own career data. Some ships have hundreds of uploaders and some have only a handful, so a quiet ship's record is easier to beat than a popular one's. These are the best games we can see, not an official all-time record, and a better game that nobody has shared will not appear here.

• Standard battles only. Ranked, Arena, co-op and event modes like War Tales are not counted. Event and PvE modes can produce damage numbers well beyond anything possible in a normal match, and mixing them in would bury the real records.
• One ship, one game. Each figure is a single battle on that ship. The damage, XP, kill and aircraft records for a ship usually come from different games, and often from different players.
• Rental and test ships are left out. Only ships with a public ship page are listed.
• Records we could not verify are marked. Every ship has a plausibility ceiling for damage, based on the verified record screenshots the community has published. A game recorded above that ceiling is held at the ceiling, so the real figure was higher but has not been verified. There are 17 of these. They are left out of the rankings above and marked † in the full table.
• Players are credited only if they chose to be. A holder's name appears only when that player has opted in to the community leaderboards.
